COLLABORATIVE FUTURES
Glasgow School of Art X Royal Bank of Scotland | 2018 - 2019
During the first phase of the project, we broadly researched a range of areas that could impact the world in 2028 and therefore shape the future of financial health. This created a vast amount of research that had to be visually captured so that we as a team, and the Royal Bank of Scotland, could refer back to our collective knowledge as a point of reference. Therefore, the process of forming Research Cards allowed us to categorise and organise our research into key areas, these being: social, technological, economical, political, digital/data and learning.
Through doing this, it allowed us to begin to speculate on aspects of the research and form a basis on how to develop the design of the cards. Alongside the cards purpose as a point of information to refer back to, we also wanted them to be interactive and facilitate conversation. It is with this in mind that we created the basis of our design:
Fact Cards
These were rectangular cards that represented information or trends
that are currently happening, have happened or are proven to happen.
Speculation Cards
These are oblong cards that are based on fact, but used to begin to speculate on this information.
On these cards you will find questions that prompt conversations and thoughts.
Movement Cards
The Movement Cards are a formation of our Research Cards to form larger movements
that could affect financial services in 2028.
